Took a lot of work, but it sure looks and feels better!

June 11th

Been pretty quiet up here.  Can hear a lot of birds and crickets. The other night, about 1am, I heard some horrible noise.  I thought an animal must be killing something out my bedroom window.  I wanted to get up to look, but it was so dark, I couldn't see anything.  I laid there, listening for a long time.  The screeching would stop for a minute and then start again.  I finally raised up on my side to wake Steve up, who slept through the whole ordeal.  Only I found out it was him snoring.  This was a whole new snore I haven't encountered before.  Just glad there was no dead animal outside this morning.

Until they bring up paint and gas, we don't have a whole lot to do.  We did go over and clear a couple cabin areas of fallen branches and debris.  At this rate, we should have everything cleared up by Tuesday.  It is such a beautiful area to just sit and enjoy.  I have found most of my dad's nieces and nephews and put them on FamilySearch.  That is good.  I went for a bike ride tonight, but Steve's bike has a flat tire that needs patched.  We will make it to town one day.  Life is good!

June 9

It has been rainy and a little cold here.  Steve has had a fire going everyday.  Our first day here, the power went out for about 4 hours to 6000 people.  We decided it might be a good idea to have some water saved, so we filled a couple water coolers.  Better safe than sorry.

Tyler drove up today to bring us the rest of our stuff that we couldn't get in our car.  He gets two gold stars!  He had to drive through snow storms and lots of fun weather.  Grateful to him and glad he made it back home safely.

Steve and I went for a little walk today to check on everything.  It ended up being a pretty good hike.  There are lots of places to get us in trouble if we really want to. Haha.  Beautiful places to hike and sight see.  I posted a couple pictures.  More to come.

As we ate breakfast this morning,  I thought how peaceful and beautiful to look out and see such a gorgeous sight.  This is heavenly!  You can all come for a visit!!!  You will love it.

House

This is our new home for the summer.

Sunday

1st day

This is our first day. Setting up the computers and trying to get phones to work and get some things unpacked. Welcome to camp Camp Glenwood/Riverview.  We look like we have been moving, everything is a mess, including us.  So grateful for Doug and Julie.  We would be totally isolated if they hadn't come with us.  They are the computer and phone experts.  If we are in the cottage, my phone has service.  Steve's does not.

We will be taking care of these two camps for the summer.  Beautiful girls' camps.  We have some painting to do and a lot of mowing and trimming to do.  This will be great for us at this time.  Steve is still recuperating from his accident and this will give him some extra time to heal.  He went to the Dr. last week.  He had a CT scan done and discovered he has a hole in his lung.  Good thing he had that done, because he had surgery Thursday.  That could have been bad!  But Heavenly Father is watching out for him.  Everything is falling into place.  This is the perfect place to continue to heal and still serve.  In the fall, we will be back at the library until they begin calling senior missionaries again.  Life if good!
